New Moon in Scorpio, 11/20/25
Not to be outdone by the previous full Moon in Taurus, this Scorpio new Moon offers us a spectacular Grand Water Trine and another Sacred Chalice, this time completed by the Sun, Moon, and Mercury retrograde and cazimi (exactly aligned with the Sun). We are looking at an incredibly potent alignment in Scorpio, with opportunities to powerfully reset our belief system and undo limiting programming that may be affecting us since childhood.
The Grand Trine in water signs speaks of emotional intensity and the healing of emotional wounds. The new Moon in Scorpio with Mercury retrograde and cazimi, opposite Uranus at the final degree of Taurus, opens a portal deep into the psyche to reflect upon and dredge up from the emotional depths the wounding that has long been hidden or forgotten. Saturn and Neptune in Pisces give us a final opportunity to address these issues and reconfigure energetic pathways before they move definitively into Aries early next year. Exalted Jupiter in Cancer is the conductor of this holy alliance, orchestrating healing and resolution of trauma while each planet plays its part in this sacred symphony.
One of the best times to set intentions for change is during a new Moon. This one has the potential to deliver like no other, as long as you are sincere and doing the work to recognize where your limitations have prevented you from being aligned with your highest self. It’s not about improvement or getting better - you are not flawed. This is about moving beyond the comfort of habits and routines that no longer serve you.
Uranus, in a stunning opposition to the new Moon that completes the Sacred Chalice, is at the final, anaretic degree of Taurus. Retrograde, in a close to exact opposition with the Sun, Moon AND Mercury, also retrograde, he is giving us one last opportunity to revisit the area in our chart where Taurus resides, and to move on from this house position definitively to the next one.
Where have you been playing small, or not being completely honest with yourself? What needs to change in order for you to feel more aligned? Perhaps more order, more flow, less chaos, more support… whatever it may be, now is your time to really feel into what has been holding you back, and just let it go. Easier said than done? Only if you continue to allow that negative programming to keep operating in the background! Now is the time to become fully conscious of it, confront it, thank it for serving you up until now, and let it go, this time for good!
Several other aspects in this chart are noteworthy: Venus trine and sextile the nodes of the Moon; a T-square between Mars in Sagittarius and the nodes of the Moon; a culminating square between Jupiter and Chiron; a quintile from the new Moon/Mercury to the South Node, and a bi-quintile from the new Moon/Mercury to Chiron. In addition to the Sacred Chalice, these aspects denote the divine energies present in the skies, offering us support and touching stones for healing the trauma endured over many generations in order for us to be ready for our next iteration: Homo sanctus.

In conclusion, the Scorpio New Moon invites a descent into the hidden chambers of the self, where forgotten memories, unspoken fears, and quiet hurts have been stored away in the dark. This is not a journey of force, but of courageous presence—a willingness to sit with what was once too overwhelming to face. In this deep inner space, you are guided to retrieve what was lost: the parts of yourself that splintered off in moments of pain or shock, the emotions you numbed in order to continue forward, the truths you were not yet ready to hold. Scorpio offers you the lantern of insight and the protection of shadow, reminding you that diving into buried trauma is not about reliving the wound, but recovering the power, clarity, and authenticity you left behind with it.
From this place of reclamation, your intentions can become a bridge from wounding to wisdom. Honor what the trauma taught you—resilience, boundaries, sensitivity, discernment—and allow these lessons to stand as sacred markers on your path. With compassion, name what you are ready to release: the shame, the fear, the self-doubt, the survival strategies that no longer serve. Then call in a new pattern, one aligned with your highest emotional and spiritual integrity: healthier relating, deeper self-trust, greater emotional freedom, or a more open heart. Your intention becomes a vow to yourself—I recognize what shaped me, I release what confines me, and I choose a new way of being that honors who I am becoming.
