New Moon in Pisces, February 27th, 2025

Sarah Songbird

Updated: Feb 28

A new Moon in Pisces will always be a beautiful opportunity for spiritual and emotional growth, offering the right conditions for surrender, completion, the dissolution of hardened, inflexible energies, as well as the possibility for new beginnings. THIS new Moon in Pisces, accompanied by 3 planets and the North Node, is exceptionally Piscean, and wants us to really understand the importance of letting go and letting GOD. In other words, try to get out of your own way, lol! This is especially important because of what is coming this Spring, with a huge emphasis on Aries, bringing us into a much more fiery and active phase.

The Influence of Pisces: A Portal to the Unseen

Pisces is a water sign associated with dreams, intuition, healing, and the dissolution of boundaries. With so many planets co-present in Pisces, this New Moon amplifies spiritual insights, emotional depth, and subconscious influences. It is an invitation to:

  • Release control and trust in the unseen forces guiding your life.

  • Engage in deep inner work—meditation, dream journaling, and intuitive practices will be powerful now.

  • Reconnect with compassion and forgiveness, both for yourself and others.

  • Let go of illusions—Neptune’s presence can blur reality, making it essential to discern truth from fantasy. This is particularly emphasized at this time, because Neptune is in the last degrees of Pisces, poised to ingress into Aries next month for the first time since 1861.

Mars, still in his fall in watery Cancer, has just turned direct. This is making a big difference for many of us, who have been severely impacted by his weakened position, forcing us to wait, be patient, swallow our pride or backpedal on some emotional outbursts or impulsive decisions.

In a whole sign trine aspect to these planets in Pisces, Mars is finally tapping into his connection to Spirit, allowing instead of forcing his way through things. This trine softens Mars’ usual aggressiveness, making him more compassionate, emotionally aware, and intuitive. This also supports creative flow, healing practices, and emotional courage.

Just as we are getting over the Mars retrograde, Venus, now in her detriment in Aries, is about to station and turn retrograde this Saturday, March 1st. Is this a cosmic joke, or what? Or, maybe it is an ingenius way we get to address the toxic masculinity in our lives, and follow that immediately by addressing the toxic femininity as well! I am a big fan of Candace Owens, and her recent coverage of the Blake Lively lawsuit against Justin Baldoni illustrates this perfectly.

Four of the seven primary planets are currently in signs that represent their detriment, being opposite their signs of dignity. For me, this is very significant because it shows us how these planets can demonstrate our wounding, our trauma, or simply what it means to be the underdog. Venus in Aries can feel aggressive, demanding and selfish, showing us the emotional parts of us that still need attention and healing. Mars in Cancer, of course, is very frustrated by setbacks and delays, while Mercury in Pisces just can’t get out of his brain fog! Jupiter in Gemini is the one least affected - he will simply focus his attention from the big picture to the details, potentially getting in trouble for making a mountain out of a molehill.

What are the upsides to this? In other words, what can we possibly learn from it? Venus, once she realizes the importance of service to a greater whole, becomes the fearless mama bear protecting her progeny and guaranteeing the survival of her species. Mars is learning patience and compassion, and is ready to be that big brother who shows the way to his younger siblings. Mercury, who really doesn’t like having brain fog, opens his mind to other forms of perception than just his rational intelligence. And Jupiter, well, he just keeps on being his expansive self and amplifies the focus on details that may not have been previously disclosed… does this sound familiar? It should, at least at the level of our federal government.

Not to be outdone by his big brother and big sister, Mercury goes retrograde on March 16th, also in the sign of Aries. March will definitely be a month of reflection, reconsidering, reviewing, re, re, re…. just before the wild leap into Aries, specifically Neptune’s ingress on March 30th. He will be here for 13 years to come, followed soon after by Saturn on May 25th, who will be in Aries for close to 3 years. Coincidentally (?…), Saturn is in his fall (detriment) here as well! We will speak more about what this all means in later blog posts.

What to Expect from this new Moon: Personal & Collective Themes

This New Moon is an energetic reset that invites deep emotional and spiritual shifts. Here’s what you might experience:

  • Heightened intuition and psychic awareness—pay attention to dreams and synchronicities.

  • Emotional purging—old wounds, grief, or fears may surface for healing.

  • A need for solitude and reflection—this is not a time for rushed decisions but for inner attunement.

  • Powerful creative breakthroughs—artists, writers, and musicians may experience a surge of inspiration.

  • A shift in spiritual direction—some may feel called to explore new paths of healing or esoteric wisdom.

On a collective level, this lunation could bring waves of compassion, artistic expression, and heightened spiritual awareness, but also confusion, escapism, or deception in the media and global events. We have already experienced a certain amount of this, especially on the part of the legacy media, whose coverage of events has been far from unbiased, for quite some time now. It’s just now being revealed to the public the extent to which the mainstream media has been a propaganda arm of the globalist agenda (think World Economic Forum Agenda 2030 - “You will own nothing and you will be happy.”). Sounds like the theme song of a totalitarian regime to me!

Pluto, maintaining a steady grip on the Aquarian agenda (remember, Brotherly Love, Peace and Unity?…), is like the “chef d’orchestre” of the times, shining with excellence from his Aquarian throne, unafraid of uprooting weeds and showing us the rot beneath the societal structures that many of us thought were untouchable. He views this new Moon and these upcoming retrogrades as par for the course, things that need to happen before we can step into the action that will be required from us in the coming months, when Aries is fully activated.

For this New Moon in Pisces, the best crystals to work with are those that enhance intuition, emotional healing, spiritual connection, and dreamwork. Given the heavy Pisces energy (with Saturn, Mercury, the North Node, and Neptune all in Pisces) and the whole sign trine to Mars in Cancer, these crystals will help ground, clarify, and amplify the energies of this lunation.

And just in case you’re still wanting to read more, here’s a short extract from my upcoming book “Awakening Your Highest Frequency”:

Despite our best efforts, willpower, and determination, change often occurs in its own time because it is influenced by unconscious programming, ancestral patterns, and the energetic fields we exist within. Morphic fields, as described by Dr. Rupert Sheldrake, hold patterns of behavior and experience that are deeply ingrained, sometimes originating from ancestral patterns, and that require more than mere conscious effort to shift. The process of transformation must honor the timing of our soul's readiness and the alignment of our energy.

True transformation is not solely a change in thought patterns but a profound shift in our entire being. It requires an integration of body, mind, and energy, dissolving old paradigms and creating space for new possibilities. Unlike surface-level change, which can be fleeting, deep transformation restructures the energetic and subconscious frameworks that dictate our experiences.
